The Wii console is small and fits out of the way. It was easy to hook up. The only problem I had with this purchase is the remote does not work. I tried configuring it to the console and also tried new batteries, and still no luck. Had to purchase a new one from the store. I have not had time to get with the purchasee to let them know of the problem and to get a replacement. Schedule has been hectic. So, I can not say they have not corrected this problem because I have not contacted them yet.
Baby G Ladies Watch

The book is set in Ireland for the most part and is written by an Irish author. Artemis Fowl is a twelve year old genius, who lives on an estate outside of Dublin. He has decided to replace his family’s failing wealth by stealing a Fairy’s `Book’. Artemis learns the language and customs of fairies, and develops a complicated plan to capture a fairy, Holly, in order to trade her for all the gold in the LEPrecons hostage fund. Holly is an energetic Fairy with a bit to prove since her recent catastrophe. The book is fast paced and interesting. The difference between the two worlds is intriguing. The author alternates between the viewpoint of Artemis and Holly. At one point in the middle of the book, the author’s voice pops in and introduces another character, literally. The effect was a speed bump while reading. This is a world where the different species interact; dwarf, trolls, mud people (humans) and fairies are alive and interesting. The author alluded to at least two other stories related to the characters in this book. The problem with the book is I didn’t really identify with any of the characters. There were interesting passages about Artemis and Holly, the Butler character was intriguing, and Commander Root was unique, but none of them had me cheering for them to succeed. Holly was the friendliest character, but she was not the main character. It would be interesting to have a student debate the ethics of Artemis’ plan. What was the good Artemis accomplished? Or was there any at all? The end of the book specifically states that we should not interpret Artemis’ actions regarding his mother and anything other than selfishness. Students will identify with Artemis because he is so smart, smarter than everyone around him, what kid doesn’t feel that? He gets to order around all the adults in his world as well. To the point:

Pros:
Excellent at picking up dog hair from bare floors, rugs.
Not too heavy, very maneuverable, easy to carry around and to store
Excellent price

Cons:
Air blows out of left side and makes you work a little harder in hallways and near walls
Hose mode not very easy to use, some tools fall out of their storage place
Changing bags is a bit tricky
Does not go under furniture (problematic because hose and wand feature is not easy to use)

Overall it is a good product. Problems are not difficult to overcome. If cord is short or I want to minimize plugins I use 16 foot extension cord. For under furniture that cannot be moved easily, I use the Hoover brand small cannister type vac that I bought 27 years ago. Hoover is a good brand.

I love this steamvac! It worked just like it was supposed to. My carpet is light beige and was very dirty. I was very happy with the results after cleaning the first time. By going very slowly and following the directions, the carpet dryed VERY quickly. I did have to empty the dirty water container often, but that only helps dry the carpet faster. Just follow the directions closely and you will have no problems.

I am pretty disappointed with this DVD. I thought my daughter would enjoy watching it because she loves animals. I think that there was not a lot of consideration in picking the music that went with the different animal groups. The frames/views change very quickly throughout the whole video. Also, there was no reason to add in the baby genius cartoon characters into the animal scenes – it adds nothing to the viewing experience, is distracting, and feels like blatant marketing. Particularily, when the animal viewing is over, a “music video” with the baby genius characters plays which does not fit at all with the rest of the video and gives the very clear impression of brainwashing and product placement. No thank you baby genius. I’d rather have bought a national geographic film.
