DC Thunder AC Rock series

OK…. the parade has passed by this old 2G iPod Touch. Now people are on to 3G with all the new bells and whistles (multitasking, voice commands, etc.) I say, “Let them go.” This 2G is just fine by me.

This is the first touchpad device I’ve owned. I never felt I needed something like this since I already have a cell phone, a netbook computer, various iPods and a Kindle. But after having purchased this, I find I use it much more than I thought I would, especially on my commute, and the Kindle, netbook, and old iPod stay at home more often.

It has all the functions of my old iPods so the music experience is the same as always… very good.

What I especially like about this device is all the apps that I can download or that come with the device. Since purchasing this, I’ve moved my calendar and appointments over to the Calendar Goo app that syncs easily with my Google calendar. Easy and convenient. Also nice is the ‘Weather’ app. Quick check before heading out the door and I’m good to go. I could go on about the apps but most people know the score. The iPod touch allows one to personalize the device and get just what one needs.

I will also mention that the Kindle app is great. Since buying the iPod Touch 2G, my Kindle has been collecting dust. I never liked the low contrast of the 2G Kindle…felt I was reading on grayish looking paper. Also no backlighting meant no reading in low light situations. With the 2G Touch, I don’t have to carry a 2nd device to read books. The Touch is smaller, so easier, to use on crowded trains. Also, it is backlit so low-light reading situations are no problem. Finally, the contrast is good. The print is black and the pages white. I have no problem with eyestrain. The app works fine and I can download my Kindle books quickly and easily. The biggest drawback for the Kindle app on the Touch is that highlighting text is a really frustrating activity. If what you want to highlight is located too near the edges o

I have really enjoyed using this GPS. I already ran a lot, but since I have started using the Forerunner I have been running a lot more. It is simple and yet so complex. If you love to run or bike as well as analyze your performance stats, this is for you.

Initial setup was easy, but I learn something new every day. There are plenty of options to change. You can set your own speed zones and heart rate zones, as well as change when the Forerunner beeps- when you switch zones, advance a mile, or run for a set amount of time.

The heart rate monitor works great and is easy to use. It stays on without any trouble, and after getting used to it you will forget it’s even there.

The advanced workout and interval options are amazing. Instead of using a track you can run in a parking lot or anywhere. The Forerunner will tell you when to start your repeat and after going whatever time or distance you set, it will tell you to start your break.

Even thought the Forerunner seems big, it isn’t that heavy and is very comfortable. The side buttons can be hard to press, but they are more durable this way.

The connectivity is amazing. I use the Garmin training software and then upload it to [...]. From there I can export maps, heart rate graphs, elevation charts, and statistics to my running blog.

Hello DC 18 mm 200

When I bought my iPhone back in August, I wanted a sturdy case to protect my investment. The salesgirl showed me the Otterbox, and I immediately liked the rugged look and feel of this case.

One rainy day within a week of my purchase, I was getting into my car when the seat belt stripped my phone from its holder, dropping it onto the parking lot and directly into a deep puddle! (BTW, iPhones don’t float!)

Even with the minor fit problems for some of the various plug covers, only one drop of water got into the case. I was able to remove the phone from its case and dry it off with no damage *whatsoever*.

As for the “film” problem mentioned by other reviewers, I have a touch-screen protector applied to my phone, and I have never had any issue like they mention.

If I had anything negative to say about the Otterbox, it would be that some third-party cables won’t fit through the connector port – but that’s not even their fault – it’s the fault of the third-party cable vendor with a non-OEM plug shape!
