Just two day ago I received my Amazon Kindle 2 & Amazon Kindle Leather Cover, and I have to say im very impressed! Right from the get go I was impressed, the packaging, the introduction & User Guide pre-loaded, and even my copy of The Hobbit which was immediately downloaded when I turned the Kindle on for the first time.

The build quality of the Kindle 2 seems sturdy, surprisingly so for such a thin device, it feels SOLID, and has a good weight to it. I very much recommend buying the cover though, as any device with a screen needs some protection, and the Kindle 2 does not come with a cover (even a slip cover would be nice).

Using the Kindle 2 to read is great, I use the smallest text size and find it to be perfectly readable, the control and buttons feel a little alien (I have been spoiled by touchscreen technology). However touchscreen ereaders tend to have much more glare, so im happy not to have this feature yet.

Using the Kindle 2 to buy and download books is awesome, I like the fact I can buy a new book anywhere*, I have subscribed to the daily edition of The Times which was again very easy – I will love this on the train!

I have no problems with the device, I do however hope that Amazon start supporting Kindle on the Amazon UK site, a UK mains charger would be nice; pictures in the newspapers, blogs, all in our home currency please…

*So long as you have network coverage
