2 Gang Wars Region problem!

You could say dirty floors are my pet peeve. With that stated, I also say this vacuum is a great value. I have had this vacuum for about 8 months and now use it as my main push vacuum (I also use a Roomba). It is easy to maneuver, cleans the carpet well, and is lightweight enough to use on stairs. In addition to the Hoover Tempo and Roomba, I also have a 15 year old Hoover WindTunnel which is too heavy for me to use on stairs and a 6 year old Kenmore Elite Canister vacuum (rated a best buy in Consumer Reports when I purchased it) which does not pick up dust and dirt as well as this Hoover Tempo.

I have a lot of tile in my home. The Hoover Tempo tends to sling as much of the dust and dirt as it picks up when I run it on the tile. So I use the Roomba instead.

As a busy mom, I do delegate chores to my kids. Vacuuming is one of the easier chores I delegate. My kids tend to be rough on vacuums. My Kenmore Elite Canister vacuum has been “broken” by my son several times – requiring several hours of repair by a disgruntled husband. This Hoover Tempo however has been used by my kids since we got it and is still working perfectly.

The cord is a little shorter than most and that can be a nuisance. I either change electrical sockets frequently or add and extension cord. Problem solved.

Hello Region 2 Turandot

This DVD captures a truly excellent performance of Puccini’s most ambitious and musical complex opera. But the true importance of this DVD is that it captures David Hockney’s amazing sets–among the most original and important in the history of Opera. I have seen the Hockney sets in live productions on three occasions–most recently opening night in the Chicago revival of 2006. Hockney’s painterly sets are filled with bold, emotionally resonant, colors–deep reds shading into violet combine with strong vivid blues. The result is something that is truly rare–a production where the sets add as much emotional content to the opera as the singing. I like to think of the Hockney production a painting with music and sung commentary. (A word of caution: if you dislike contemporary visual art or insist on “realistic” sets, this production is not for you.)

The Big Blue Region no mad

This movie is a wonderful sleeper (and a keeper)! Stunning cinematography, a great musical score, beautiful french men (Reno and Bar), intriguing storyline, unencumbered dialogue, etc. This is truly one of my favorite movies and I am sorry to see that it is unavailable for purchase! Here’s hoping it will be available again soon (in WIDESCREEN).
