Even though I enjoyed the book, and felt that the author had the best of intentions, I could not keep out of my mind the notion that the entire premise was hypocritical. If the same book had embraced that it was told from Skeeter’s perspective, not that of the “help” at all, I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

I had some reservations about buying this machine because some people complained about leaking, etc. I read enough positive reviews and thought the complainers had user error going on.
I got it today, my eight year old son assembled it (it was that easy) and I cleaned most of our downstairs carpets this evening. Wow! I think of myself as a good housekeeper and it is so painful to see how dark the dirty water is. No leaking!
This replaces my ten year old Dirt Devil that I was always satisfied with. I think this Hoover got the carpets cleaner than they ever have been. The price to purchase it is less than having the professionals come in.
